It's my Joy...

"I am not who you think I am Mackenzie. I don't need to punish people for sin. Sin is it's own punishment, devouring you from the inside. It's not my purpose to punish it; it's my joy to cure it." (p. 120)

Hi Jennifer,

I discovered your blog today as I was searching for some specific quotes from The Shack for my daughter.

This book was given to Hannah by one of her favorite teachers. As is a tradition in our house, I read the book while Hannah slept (from 2200 to 0300 two nights in row!) I devoured it and then she worked her way through (she is 13).

This is really an excellent book. I studied theology as my first undergraduate degree. And I am so impressed with the very deep theological concepts that are tackled and beautifully presented in this book! We are hoping to incorporate it into our school English or Religion course.

Your blog is a great idea. I have enjoyed doing something similar with Hannah. I choose a quote and they we debate it throughout the day..."What does this mean?" "Why does God say this?" "Would you react the same way Mack did?"

Thank you for the quotations and your insights. I wish you on-going success. If your blog helps even one person examine a personal relationship with God than you have greatly changed the world!

I will endeavour to keep checking back in. Today I just wanted to say "thanks"!

Brenda
